Our approach

Open Access

We are truly open access. Our model allows multiple carriers and service providers access to our fibre infrastructure on a purely wholesale basis. Services include managed ethernet, dark fibre, duct and sub duct and fibre to the premises.

Wholesale

We do not compete for customers. We provide service providers with a real alternative pure fibre network to deliver the bandwidth and add on services for their customers without restriction.

Impact

Local Authority

By unbundling the traditional model of telecoms infrastructure, Telcom Infrastructure enables local authorities to take charge of their digital destiny whilst future proofing their boroughs infrastructure for the benefit of its citizens and the local economy.

Landlords

Our model provides real estate owners with an increase in marketability, an increase in rents, an increase in property value and direct revenue from fibre assets.

Solving the last mile compatibility with top tier carriers

Using Telcom Infrastructure, communication providers benefit from interconnection with top tier carriers. Providing choice of interconnection whilst giving top tier carriers last mile connection with enterprise grade customers.

Partnerships are the key that drives our business. Our partners include network integrators, ISPs, data centres, the mobile networks and telecoms resellers.

The open access model

Traditional access models

Fibre networks can be seen as having three ‘layers’: passive, active and service. These correspond to the physical assets (eg fibre), the electronic protocols that transport data (eg Ethernet), and the services that are offered to end users (eg broadband).

Fully integrated model

A fully-integrated provider like Virgin Media owns and operates all three layers.

Wholesale model

A wholesale provider like Openreach owns and operates the bottom two (passive and active), with competing providers (ISPs) offering the services.

Multi-layer model

Some networks have a separately owned passive layer with one or more active operators and multiple ISPs (typically concessions).

Our next generation, open access model:

Open ecosystem model

The multi-layer service model lays the groundwork for the creation of a pure open-access approach at both the passive and service level.

In such an environment the barriers to entry are lowered for new and local service providers allowing real competition to take place and rewards service providers that deliver better services at lower prices. In addition, there are no barriers to entry for any provider that wants to offer new, innovative services, thus accelerating innovation and economic development.
